Open the feed sack and toss em in the water. Do 3-4 spots, go back to the first one and start fishing.

Well i tried the range cubes and i really liked the results. I have to say that i had great results with the purina band range cubes i got at the local feed store. I also tried the tractor supply range cubes and in my opinion everyone should stay away from those. The tractor supply range cubes were more expensive by like a dollar or two but the quality was not there and the catfish didn’t respond to them as well as the purina cubes. I honestly don’t think anything responded to them.

I would like to try chumming an area multiple days ahead of time with them to see if that helps as some have suggested.

I have had great luck with the range cubes from Tractor Supply for both catfish and carp/buffs. I use the 20%. I like how they have a slower dissolve rate. Typically I will go to our spot with the kids and throw them out, then walk back to the car and grab our gear and take our time. It is really effective if I can get to a spot the day before and throw it out, but that's not always the case. I can usually see a difference within an hour with baitfish showing up in the location, then the bigger game fish will start arriving.

In my experience range cubes are best chummed in the same spot for a couple days before you start fishing. I throw a couple of Ice scoops full out in the evening and fish in the morning throwing a scoop full out before I start fishing. My favorite chum is soaked milo. Put some in a five gallon bucket, cover with water and wait three days. Chicken scratch works just as good if you can't find Milo. You really don't need it to be stinking just have the fermentation process started. However stinking is fine also. Back to the range cubes. You might find that fishing minnows over your chummed spot is very effective for catching minnow eaters. I usually fish punch bait. And yes the cubes dissolve and catfish will be down there sucking it up.

I just tried these at our place on the MS coast, it's at mouth of the Pascagoula in brackish water. They worked for sure & caught a mess of different fish with some really nice channel cat mixed in, but it also brought in blue crab by the gob loads, was hard to keep them off the bait

Catfish are great eating, but I love some crab.

I feed cattle as well as chum with Range Cubes and the Tractor Supply ones will mold and fall apart just setting in a feed barn faster than others.Just a thought.

All iknow is the tractor supply range cubes does not bring them in like the purina brand. Well not in the numbers anyway. I will also chim 3 to 4 spots with the TS brand and find that i have to actually hit all 4 spots to see which one actually has some fish. When ever i have used the purina brand i will also chum 3 to 4 spots but i never had to go to all 4 spots. Normally the bite is on and heavy at the spot i hit up first. I might make it to a second spot just out of curiosity.

You will know range cubes work when you cut them open and the stomach is full of it. And they dont stink like sour milo. Don'w leave them in your boat if it is stored outside as the racoons love range cubes.

Why not just straight up buy catfish food? The floating pellets?
It's in the bag next isle over from the range cube.

Because they float.
