Now it just needs to warm up enough to use them.

Bone 130 on 50lb braid. I like to pop it and stop it on the retrieve, but the strikes seem to come when it's on the move. They can be violent. FUN!

I like the bone color 130 around cover, especially wood and docks. I've caught many fish this way. In open water for schooling fish I like the phantom shad 90, I caught around 100 fish at Lake Athens with this.

I fish em a bunch...I feel like I need at least two colors...one dark, as in Loon...the other light...Monkey Butt or bone. The size depends on the level of sound I want to project. I prefer to fish the larger sizes but I'm fairly sure they make too much noise and push fish off of hard bottoms. The harder the bottom the smaller I go. I have stopped throwing the larger sizes next to damns or over any other type of rocks as the smaller sizes are MUCH more effective. I think over weed beds and soft cover the bigger you go, the better. 50 pound Maxiquatro braid with a straight retrieve seems to work best for me.

Bone 90 for me! A trick that has worked for me is to work it like a worm being dragged slowly on the bottom. I just want the tail to barely flip over and for whatever reason the fish hammer it!

Bone, Loon or Powder - they can only see the bottom so that will cover light, medium & dark. 110 & 130 are my favs. The sound is different on each size - you can hear the 190 2 coves away. 50# braid min because you can get some explosive strikes ripping it out of surface grass. Vary your retrieve until you you get a pattern. One that works for me is casting past a visible target, slow retrieve until you get to it, then pause for a 3 count. Sometimes you get hammered as soon as you start the retrieve again.
Less gritchin', more fishin'

90 in the "I know it" color (white/chartreuse stripe), steady retrieve.
In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

Which ever one the Peacock Bass blasts. I would like to have a couple in louder colors.

Just a quick tip, if you are fishing around grass it is a good idea to use braid because if grass gets on the tail it will spin and cause significant line twist. You can use mono but put a swivel on the front. Hope that helps you all. I use Bone and Loon. All sizes.
