Guess the camera boat can't find Takahiro, they keep showing Montgomery who's 12 lbs. out and Clausen who's 8 lbs. out. Wazzup ?

Im guessing the service is bad up the river where he moved from his gold mine.

But agree, would rather watch two turtles getting it on then have to watch clausen or listen to Andy Montgomerys voice.

Montgomery has gotta better chance of getting a tan today than he has of winning the tournament. My guess is he caught the producer with a goat. Takahiro can head to the weigh in it's over. Good for him too.

Congrats to Tak on the win. Montgomery was funny at the weigh in though.

Great to see a regular ol' Texas boy win! ......well sort of regular......and he does call Texas his current residence.

Montgomery was funny. He seems like a regular dude.

Keep your eye on Roy Hawk this year. Guy has paid his fishing dues twice over. Fished with him on Lake Mead in the 90's when he lived out of his van and fished as a non-boater. Great 2nd place finish in his 1st Elite series event. Congrats!

I rode with him for a day in the TTBC a few years back. By then he had made it on the Tour. I never knew his story. I assumed that he had the Japanese based sponsors such as Yamaha and Lucky Craft nailed down before he set out on a bass fishing career in America. It's impressive to see the drive these guys have to do something they love. You hear crazy things like Brandon Palanuik making soup out of ketchup and water.

That's what makes most of them a cut above. They have laser vision on what they want to accomplish and that's making a living bass fishing. They will do whatever it takes to get there. They will fish a crazy number of hours. Sleep in a vehicle. Go with little money.

It would be interesting to hear a story of someone who tried just as hard and wasn't able to make it. The Ike story is that he was going to give it up the year that he won the Classic. That win allowed him to and drove him to continue.

You can't help but be impressed at what Tak has accomplished.
