A certain hs in my sons hs bball district has 4 D1 commits starting, 5th starter is a D2 commit Going to schools like ks, georgetown, osu. They either got real lucky that those young men all grew up in that hs area or something else is going on. Meanwhile we have one D3 player on the entire team, makes ya wonder

The only surprise here is that there is just now an investigation into Southlake... In their dominant era under Dodge it was well known they recruited players. Players parents would be set up with good paying jobs and housing. This information comes from a former assistant coach in another sport at Southlake I used to fish with from time to time....

I remember when I was in HS (yeah, I can still remember that far back) and went to my poor azzed HS and was in the same district with Barbers Hill. They had that little local oil refinery and all these good athlete's dads got good jobs working there. They were in contention for the state title every year.

He11, half the team was working weekends in the woods hauling logs, cutting, gophering, driving skidders and loaders. Taint no money in East Texas in those days. I was in shock how poor it was after moving in there from a well-to-do district.

Joshua got caught doing this when I was in high school. We had the 2 games we won taken back. We never even got close to the playoffs when I was in school, which is why it was so stupid.
