Do sweet onions normally look like this, most of my produce experience is with fruit so not sure what the outside of an sweet onion looks like? Anyway, should I cut it vertically or horizontally? Cubed or sliced?  Gnarly

Do sweet onions normally look like this, most of my produce experience is with fruit so not sure what the outside of an sweet onion looks like? Anyway, should I cut it vertically or horizontally? Cubed or sliced? Vertical and cubed for that situation.

Chop the potatoes and fry til done
Add the chopped sausage til its warmed up
Scramble a couple of eggs in the sausage and potatoes.
Sprinkle shredded cheese on top and serve.
