I think the non traditional stuff hardware helps the distillation process, either infusing, or separating, depends on flow direction

Thats what Im thinking too. Could be to pressure water to multiple sinks, not sure about rooms; but possible I suppose.

With the number of outlets it could be an old embalming device to pump formaldehyde into corpses. Attach rubber hoses and catheters to the outputs, pressure it up, insert into various veins, open another vein. Blood goes out, formaldehyde goes in.

Exactly what I was thinking. Or maybe it was put on a heat source to create steam for heating instead of hot water?
