The spot lock doesn't work well for me Crappie fishing. The plus or minus 13' gps tolerance and the jerking me back forth to stay on spot are not cool. However; I love mine for the GoTo button. I can pick a way point on my Humminbird and when I cross over the structure drop a buoy and BANG its on. No more looking for land marks and guessing. Speaking of Humminbirds, with the 360 sonar a lot of the time I dont use a bouy cause I can see the structure on my screen in relation to the boat. really cool stuff.

My partner and I fished Sandlin in the CAT tournament on Saturday. I have a XI5 on my boat. We fished the same spot all day and never put out a buoy with six rods out. What a pleasure; staying in the same spot and vertical lines in 15mph+ winds. I previously had a Terrova and we would have never been able to do that. The Xi5 did what I wanted. BTW, we came in 2nd.

Even if you dont need marker buoys any longer, never underestimate the value of decoy markers!!!

Once you go Spot Lock you never go back. grin

Spot Lock is a joyful thing. When I started fishing we
barely had good trolling motors. Barely out of the
Silvertrol age.

I already gave one of my anchors away. I haven't used any
of them since I put my Terrova iPilot on my boat.

AHHH...THIS MAN IS WISE TO MY WAYS.
NOTJING I LOVE BETTER THAN TOSSING A DECOY MARKER ABOUT 75 YARDS FROM WHERE I'M FISHING AND WATCHING FOOLS SCAN ALL OVER IT TRYING TO SEE WTH I'M MARKING

The SpotLock is awesome but yesterday I really played with the AutoPilot and it was GREAT, it even steers with the prop not spinning so while being pushed by the wind it helped me focus on casting to the weed lines. Then when I hooked up I hit the SpotLock to keep me from continuing down the line while landing the fish. I am sure I have much more to learn about using this outstanding tool.

UPDATE: This 7 lbs 1 oz mama was caught this evening as a direct result of my new Ultrex SpotLock feature combined with a new Point-1 GPS antenna I installed this morning. The Point-1 stabilizes the boat symbol on the HDS unit and now I can set up on isolated structure waypoints much better. Also I lost her twin sister at the boat on the very next cast, first time I have ever stuck two fat girls that size on back to back casts in my life smile
