I probably won't get the popular vote, but I throw all my big cranks on a 7'11" TFO Mag Swimbait rod. It's stiffer than your traditional cranking rod but has flex in the tip. At the end of a day of cranking it seems to be way more forgiving. I've never noticed a difference in bites or losing fish.
