I have had birds dive bomb my lunker punker on Fork in the past. Earlier this year I was pitching a finesse jig in my back yard pool and had a hawk hit it in mid air as I pulled it out of the water to make another cast.

Throwing a swim bait at Lake Hawkins years ago and a bald eagle came from nowhere and started dive bombing it. It was positively terrifying and beautiful but I burned it in.

The owl would have freaked me out. Those things are mean.

On Fayette twice this past week tossing top waters around dawn. Dadgummit but this brought out the raccoons. Friday just one big one trying his best to get to it and Monday a family of five gave it their best too. I cant imagine hooking a coon. I believe Id just cut the line and congratulate him on his new acquisition.
