Actually I was hoping to find an out board motor rather than an inboard which requires more maintenance.

Dockominiums are pretty nice, get you a nice boat to cruise around in, Texoma is fine. I would go with a Dockominium with a Bassboat or Striper boat on a hydrohoist. I have never owned a houseboat but I bet the maintenance is like trying to maintain both an old boat and an old RV at the same time. What they said

Drank beer on a really nice house boat docked in Lake Union - Seattle WA. They said the maintenance was terrible. That's all I got.

Dockominiums, im not familiar with, after googling them I see you also buy the slip, not sure why they would sell the slip when They can rent it out for thousands of dollars a year .

You buy the improvements and still rent the slip.

There are several dockominiums on Texoma that you can live on. They build small rooms on the docks. They are more stable than the boats. Then you can buy a boat that is actually fun to drive.

You buy the improvements and still rent the slip. And those improvements are very negotiable. Talk them down with a professional inspection.

Dockominiums also are taxed through the county FYI. I think ours is like $88 a year or something. Some dockominiums actually are connected to septic but you are going to pay for that feature. http://highport.com/slips/luxury-docko-listings/ Just for an idea of what Chris is talking about.

Im considering purchasing a house boat, I was looking at where to put it and have not decided yet. Lake of the Pines is one place I was looking at, texoma is an option but very expensive Ive heard, do any of you have any experience with houseboating and keeping your boat in the marina . Also any houseboat purchase advice would be greatly appreciated, Im an experienced boater but this is something new. I would go PK. Texoma is over priced. And not as pretty as PK.

That is a matter of opinion, PK is pretty but i would not want to be on a damned up river, and Texoma is huge and very pretty on the lower end, much like PK.
