Have been so fixated on using a compact or subcompact as a concealed carry gun that I'd forgotten the fundamentals. Yes, despite my posts about open carry, most of the time I carry concealed, because most days I don't wear a suit. Recently dusted off the P14, replaced magazine springs and a couple other small parts, and got some serious range time in with it. Shooting a gun that naturally wants to hit the x-ring is nice.

Being that I'm a bigger guy, this full size 1911 (which I've had for 17 years or so) can be concealed pretty easily just wearing a lightweight sportcoat or windbreaker. And being an alloy frame, it doesn't weigh anymore than my compact 40s&w, and I get the advantage of having 15 rounds of 45acp!

It sure does look purty with the new wood grips!

That one is an actual 225. I have a P6 I run rounds through at the range and carry as the boat gun.

While back I had Bar-Sto make a match grade barrel and threaded barrel for it.
