I have had both a ZX250 and ZX225. Not much difference at all in the two boats, the 250 was slightly more comfortable in rough water but not a huge difference IMO. The 225 is faster, lighter, and wayyyy more maneuverable on both the big motor and trolling motor. If the right deal on a ZX250 had come along I would have bought another one in a heartbeat, but I found a deal on an '05 ZX225 that I couldn't pass up.

This is my feelings as well, I have ZX225 but cam from an 18 foot boat and fish with a buddy that has a 21ft boat. I think people make way too much of a deal about rough water rides. All boat rides suck in rough water, but 225 does a good job of keeping me dry to the point that I cant complain. And coming from an 18 ft boat to a 20ft boat was an adjustment to get used to in terms of where I could go and where I couldnt go any more. I would never go back to an 18 ft boat, but I cant imagine the extra foot going to a 21ft boat would be worth the price difference to me. I wouldnt turn down a 21ft boat though, but i guess I just havent been in rough enough water yet to wish I had that extra foot.

Thanks for all the insight guys. Seems to be about 50/50 as to whether or not a 21 foot boat is better than a 20 foot boat. I guess only style and opinion of your own can determine what's best.

I owned a ZX225 and now FX21. If you fish rough water at all, and Buchanan, Falcon, and Amistad get rough, you're going to wish you had the ZX250 over the ZX225 every single time. Those lakes are the reason I sold my ZX225 and got into a bigger boat. 1 foot makes a huge difference in rough water. My FX21 with 250 SHO is heavier but faster than the ZX225 w/225 SHO

If you get the 250, you'll never have to second guess yourself down the road.

4k is better money spent on the boat, engine, and storage imo than the graphs or poles. You can always add the accessories later, hard to add onto the boat... I love my zx250

I love my zx250 Well put. exact reason i went with the bigger boat. i will add that if the place you plan to keep your boat is tight to be sure and measure before you buy. i almost got bit in the backside but it worked out after i adjusted a few things in my boat storage area.

If I went with the ZX250 and only added one option for now, extra pole or the Ultrex?
