The only thing that can save it is if the PUC says they need it for reliability or safety of the grid. That would probably only be temporary because if it is deemed as necessary then the State will have to pay for everything except salaries of the employees. I have only seen this happen once in my 35 plus years in the industry. *I said PUC but I meant to say ERCOT. They are agency responsible for the state electric grid

Welsh is next in a few years.

Green power and over regulation the last 8 years will eventually close all coal plants

It probably dates back to Obama's "War On Coal"

+1. Would love to see that happen. But, it won't. No one will want to pay for the explosives.

Theyve been trying to shut down big brown for a looonng time. Its one of the most worst coal plants for pollution... Im no tree hugger or anything, I work at a gas fired plant. But this has been coming for quite some time now... maybe theyll let you hunt on it again. We used to whack em on monti.

Yay, more (a) crowds on the power plant lakes remaining or (b) fishing for one or two bites a day in 40 degree water.
