I ordered and paid for a slidefire stock yesterday so I could satisfy my curiosity about this device. Rather interested to see whether it gets shipped or not, as the slide fire website has a message tonight that they aren't taking any more orders at present. Not sure if they're sold out, or if they're being bombarded by cyberattacks. If it doesn't get shipped, no big deal - I'll get my money back.

I'm reserving judgement at the moment as to whether this device should be legal or illegal. One mundane argument against making this thing illegal is that it's something that I could build at home without making permanent modifications to a rifle.

In reading about these stocks, I went to Youtube. My word, the vicious people are out in force piling hate-filled comments on tutorial videos that are several years old. Saw lots of comments left that youtube should take all such videos (and presumably anything firearms related) down. I have a bad feeling about where this could lead.

I have several...I bought one outright and the others came on used weapons I purchased. They work best with a lite (3.0 lb.) trigger pull.

Lots of fun, and you find out real quick what ammo you're weapon likes best. I found Federal brass works best. The steel ammo not so much.

I don't see these being banned completely, but becoming NFA items.

I expect bump-stock and echo-triggers to be looked at and outlawed.

I'm surprised they were found legal in 2010.

Not much reason for them to be less regulated than automatic weapons. I assume they'll either be outlawed completely or regulated like other NFA items. I find either of those approaches reasonable.

One of my co workers bought one several years ago. We went out and fired it. As LEOs we all agreed it was fun but none of us were comfortable with it being legal. In my opinion it was a company building a device to skirt the law.

I definitely agree...IMO I don't see why fully auto is illegal except with FFL but this is legal just does not make much sense.

We can't legislate our way out of this, to think that we can is foolhardy. You can 3D print a device in about 5 minutes or you can use a belt loop or a crank. I am against full auto, and see no need for it, but any legislation would be nothing more than a placebo.

It may make more sense to legislate concert venues. An open field packed with 40,000 people shoulder to shoulder enclosed by chain link is like shooting fish in a barrel. Especially with high rise hotels within range.

I would have no issue with the bump stocks being deemed illegal... pretty sure its going to happen in short order. IMO they will be made illegal not only to buy and sell but also to posses. There wont be a grandfather clause with this one. So they are easy to make at home? Okay, fine.. let those people making their own deal with the federal charges when they get caught, but lets take them off the market so that any idiot out there cant just order one on the internet and instantly make a weapon almost auto.

Should we govern vehicles to 75mph max?

I dont know why they sell cars with 600hp.

The average Joe who buys one or owns one for novelty will be stopped by laws.

Someone who wants to do harm will not be stopped by laws.
