I am rarely discouraged by wind. There is just something about fishing a windy point that just gets me excited about being on the water. I have never been on a lake the size of Texoma, so caution will prevail when making decisions on where to fish. Texoma is DEEP with huge rocky outcroppings! With that in mind, your "Secondary Points" are typically as deep as Main Lake Points on most of the north Texas lakes. You can fish many of those to your heart's content at any wind level, just find one that is oriented the way you need it.

The bite was great in the morning, but died off around 10. Thanks for all the advice and help. Looking forward to going back.

Wind can be tricky on Texoma. Around 7mph you'll get some uncomfortable chop. Most days it is whitecapping, usaully about 10-12 mph wind. Nothing to worry about. Plenty of pockets to pull into and get out of the wind. Don't let rough water discourage you. Biggest bass I've ever caught out of Texoma (7.76) was caught on a day where it was blowing 25 with about 2-3ft rollers. Also had a 34 smallie day dragging a shakey head on a point in 20 mph wind. Some of my best days have been in big wind. Just trim down a little bit and ride them out. Try to go straight into the waves or 45 them. If you can find the sweet spot on your hull you can run with them but it takes a while to perfect. Wind on Texoma is your friend. If the weather people say it will blow 5-10 mph you can add those together to get the actual for what to plan for. That is unless there is a front passing through. North wind on Texoma can be dangerous.

RJACK81 there is a hazard on Texoma that you need to be aware of if you travel the north bank by the Wachita river entrance. (The North arm of the lake) There is a huge rock hump about 2 to 3 feet under the water on the Oklahoma side just west of the main entrance into the river sometimes there are buoy markers around it. If you don't know where this is it will be a bad day for someone, and it is about 100 plus yards off the bank. Good luck
