I'll pass on those that have been mentioned for the most part. However, there are varieties that are exceptional. Tito and Tarantula Los Lobos And the Old School king Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. Derek...you would likely enjoy Tijuana Sauerkraut.

Love Tejano music. I could listen to it. I like the rhythm and sound. It reminds me of Cajun music which I also like, Diggy diggy Lo for example. I don't understand the words but I like the musical sounds. They are somewhat close to Polka music which I also call happy music. See how diverse my musical tastes are?  If you all like that then enjoy.

The Domingo Pena show should still be on one of the local Corpus Christi TV stations. Go for it if you like Tejano music next time you are in Corpus. Comes on Sunday monrings, or used to.
Not exactly my kind of music, but some like it.

Yes, I do like Mexican music. Not so much with the Norteno or Ranchera. I'm a little younger than you.

I like it. My Mexican neighbor has 3-4 big parties a year(that I don't get invited to  ) and he rocks out the Mexican music. It sounds just like Polka so I set and the backyard and drink beer and listen like I'm at polka fest. Kind of how I feel but without the neighbor. Have no idea what they are saying but I can get into the beat.
