Been awhile folks but I'm back. Not on a computer much anymore and can't seem to figure out this upload photo thingy from my phone to TFF. Whitney has been fishing great this year, spring top water bite was awesome, post spawn put a lot of big fish in the boat and quick limits to boot. Now the summer time pattern on the reaction strike has been great putting limits in the boat daily. This year and last year had Junior Angler lake records set, this years will be hard as heck to beat due to it was a 6.45 lb. Hybrid Striper, last years was a 12.25 Lb. Striper I think it has been beaten this year but gives us something to shoot for . Hybrids have never been stocked in Whitney so it probably made its way to Whitney via the Brazos River from Lake Graham. Talk about being in the right place at the right time. I am using 1/2 oz. Buck tail Jigs in 20 to 30'of water with a Lemon Lime 7" worm trailer from Striper Sniper bait co. These trailers are awesome and are putting fish in the box when nothing else will. www.stripersniper.com if you order use my code Whitney15 and get a 15% discount on baits ordered. Thanks to TPWD for the restocking program they did, with that, the floods and flow in the river at the right time to support a natural spawn and the fact that we probably gained fish from PK and Granbury, oh and evidently Graham too (the Hybrid)has made for a perfect storm. TPWD reported that Whitney has MORE FISH than any historical record with the exception of Small Mouth and is the hottest striper lake in Texas. That's from TPWD, not me folks! Although I agree lol. Here's a few pics from recent trips and this and last years Junior records, If I can find them and remember how to upload! UGH! BTW, I am offering some Cast and Blast trips at Whitney this year, you ought to come get ya some, and don't miss out on my back to school and fall specials! As always May God Bless you and Hope someday soon to, see you on the water! the first pic is the pending Junior Angler Hybrid Lake record. This was last years Junior Angler Lake Record, both records caught using the Striper Sniper baits. This last picture is of a 20lb Striper she caught last year on Labor day weekend on a Striper Sniper bait ,she had it mounted and is hanging in her office! Stay tuned, More to come! Now if I can figure out the mobile thingy I'll be back more often.

He had a problem for a week or so with his site. I'll let him know. At check out there should be a place to enter a code or discount number.

Great to see you back online Redneck and to hear of the great news on Whitney. I had a great spring and am hoping for some better luck this fall as my summer bite has been tough. I'll definitely look into the Sniper baits!

Are you casting out the lures or trolling them and if so what kind of retrieve?

I'm using downriggers and trolling, you can do this a couple different ways if you don't have downriggers. Find schooling whites, make long casts with 1/2 oz Buck Tail jigs and www.stripersnipertackle.com white 7" worm trailers. Drag and bump them along the bottom. You could also use umbrella rigs with jigs and trailers and put them out far enough to barely drag bottom and do the same trolling them. Just know your water and stay out of the trees lol. Hope this helps. More pics to come but at Lake house away from computer and haven't quite figured out posting pics from my phone yet. Not as High-tech Redneck as I thought I was lol. Fish on, gotta run!

Thanks for the info. Have never used jigs with a trailer and just wasn't sure how to get the most out of them.

Well great, the home computer is down ugh. Fishing is still awesome on Whitney and still catching them on jigs and Striper Sniper trailers. The fish are starting to gain weight and I cant wait for December when they really go on a gorge. I'm going to try later on today to do this upload pics from phone thing but it hasn't been going well lol. Still keying on on flats with minor changes in the structure like small ledges and road beds most days near the river channel and keeping my baits bumping off the bottom. Going through some big schools but those seem to be the box fish, 18 to 22" fish, my bigger fish seem to be more isolated laying right on the bottom. They look like a green or yellow rock or hump on the bottom on my color graph. If you haven't fished Whitney in a while, you should, it is awesome and we have lots of fish. Gotta run, y'all have a great Friday and a great weekend. Hope to see ya on the water!

Good to see you back! I've had to give up fishing but enjoyed fishing with you and enjoyed Lake Whitney since the mid 1950's. I also still enjoy following you on Texas Fishing Forum. Please keep up the reports!

good hearing from you. Still whacking them on Whitney. Limits every trip and quick limits most days all on artificial. I'll post up with details and lots more pictures soon as I get home to my computer.
