I need some new shoes for the pickemup truck.

I currently have Cooper Discovery ATP tires, and while not bad.. wanting to see what else might be out there.

I don't NEED a real aggressive tire. I prefer the All Terrain as I sometimes do light off road driving on rock roads, gravel, grass etc. I would like to get as many miles out of em as I can. I've gotten around 50k out of the current coopers.

Apparently the size I have is rather unique and difficult to come by. yay. I run a 265/70R16 on my 98 Silverado. Are there other sizes that should work? I dont mind getting slightly larger IF they should fit and not have rubbing/clearance issues.. especially if they will save me a few bucks since another size might be more common.

What do yall like for your AT tires?

I just put a set of yokahama Geolandair A/T (SP?) about 3 weeks ago on my 15 Sierra, great so far. Best price I found at the time was on Amazon. Took them to a local tire shop and had them mounted and balanced. Very quiet and not too aggressive.

I have the Cooper ATP's. They last forever and are very quiet. My Mom has the BFG AT's on her FJ cruiser and they're great. Little bit more road noise than the Cooper's. My Dad has the BFG mud grips. They're nice and beefy and less than average noise for a mud tire.

DO NOT GET FALKEN ROCKY MOUNTAIN AT's!!

I put a set of Toyo A/T2 on my Tundra and have been happy with them so far.

I had these on my old F250 and they lasted about 50K miles. Not bad on road noise and adequate in mud and rough terrain. weren't too good on rain slick highway, only issue.

I've been eyeballing all above mentioned. SOME of the limited research I've done on the BFG's indicated some drivers were less than thrilled with their traction on wet pavement. I suppose I can see that based on the tread design compared to some of the others.

So far, leaning toward another set of Coopers or the TOYO's. Seems they have the better longevity, affordability (considering wear/mileage) and wet pavement grip from my readings.

I drove my truck across the lake last weekend, so I suppose they are. Although, I've yet to attempt to drive them on spilled legos.

Hop will chime in on this too I bet.

I have 2,000 more miles to go till I post a photo of discount tire receipt with mileage, a pic of tires on truck and one of my odometer.

I have 98,000 miles on Terra Grappler G2s, 305/55/20. 2013 FX4. I bet there's 10,000 more miles left in them.

I don't think there's an AT tire out there that performs and lasts like these tires. 60,000 mile warranty on them.

245-75-16's will work and they are a more common size. They were the OEM size on my'98 Tahoe.
Go to Discount Tire website and use their tire selection tool, very helpful info.
I'm on my second set of Michelin LTX-MS tires, though they are somewhat pricey.
