I know guys who have had to shoot a bad guy in the line of duty. If you think it doesn't affect them in a very negative way, regardless of how bad the guy was, you're wrong (at least in my experience with the ones I've talked to). Not saying it's right or that their training doesn't help or that they didn't know there was a chance of that when they signed up, but ending another man's life is not easy on the soul regardless of the circumstances.
Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards. - Soren Kierkegaard

Sucks for that LEO. He arrived way before anyone else and heard gun shots so he had to intervene on his own. You know that will stick with him the rest of his life. Brave officer for sure. He trained to do just what he did.... should be fine, and should be praised for possibly saving more lives. the guy who shot the kid on my street was not fine. Shook him up a lot, how do you train for detachment after killing someone? i feel bad for the officer There's no training for that, period. No sane person can kill another, good or bad, and not have it effect them. Was stationed with many guys that were called upon to kill enemy forces and did so quite effectively, they say they are at peace with it, but everything about their behavior for most of them tells me they are not, their just lying.

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

Everyone in Europe has a baseball bat in their car. Everyone in the USA has access to guns. LTC just went down to $60 in Texas. Protect yourself.
And I know who "Jeff" is.

Move to Oklahoma and cash out. Home prices are going up in DFW. Not a bad thing.

His Chief did, in fact, praise him yesterday, and he is doing fine.... I don't generally talk about [censored] I don't know anything about [censored] face....you do your duty and you put it aside so you can keep doing the job. Sometimes, people can't put it aside, true enough. But they commonly do just that.
