My GF in the State Guard air wing texted me this morning saying they are loading out folks on C130's today to be airlifted out. She has been down there for 8 days now working non-stop. Not sure how long she gonna be there. In for the long haul it seems.

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."

Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

That was west of Beaumont in the Winnie area. They got about 10-15" more after that pic.

Over 30" at the house since Friday but still dry. Lost power for about 24 hours but restored now. Unreal.

Jaret, how are your parents today? Are they still in they're house?

My mom is in Jasper, house is ok there. Dad left Beaumont 2 days ago for hotel in Louisiana. His house we are unsure of on the banks of hillebrandt bayou which all of Beaumont drains to. Aunt and uncle got out close to his place yesterday by boat. Can't imagine what it looks like today. Going to be dang near impossible to get building supplies for miles. I'll probably get all I can out here in Austin and convoy that way as soon as water level drops. Most areas are simply not accessible right now. I know my buddy is in Kountze since that's a far as he can get south. The rescue app is pegged out at 3500 requests. It's pretty sad deal

If you can't find something you need give me a shout and I'll see if I can find it and meet you when you head that way. Hope everything works out for your family and other in that area. Houston and SeTX are in for along recovery.

saw a lot off videos of people running pretty fast, looks like you would be ramming concrete stuff, poles, etc. all the time.

With there being a hurricane, could there not be an argument made that the initial damage was caused because of that, that caused openings that allowed the flooding to happen?

I've got a bunch of cousins that evacuated from Houston last week, they have no idea what their houses look like, and don't have flood insurance.

Yea. Once the sun came up it's as bad as Houston here. Not the same number of people flooded because Houston is so much bigger but it's really bad. The whole area is trapped for now. They said I-10 east is flooding also which was the only way out.Going to take quite a while to recover from this. Thankfully it's Texas. Everybody just jumps right in and helps everybody. We will get it all back going soon enough
