So I had the opportunity to test out the new board that will solve the frozen foot pedals that some ppl are experiencing. Minnkota sent me a new ultrex trolling motor over the weekend with the updated board in the foot pedal, I calibrated this morning on the water, and used it for 7hrs without one single issue. The ultrex performed flawlessly with the updated foot pedal, this thing is so amazing when it works right now! This will fix your problems when the boards get shipped out guys. They should be shipping out soon to authorized dealers, to fix your ultrex. It works so far for me so I'm satisfied thus far.

My first one worked for 5 mins when I had it in the water, I bought it in July. Only some of them are having this issue with the frozen pedal. From what minnkota has told me 1% of the units shipped are bad. I have not seen a lot of ppl talking about it here on this forum, let alone about ultrex trolling motors, if jump on the BBC you can read about it more, as far as issues with the ultrex pedal. My new is working great, and now I can fish without worries from my ultrex now. Like I said ppl with the frozen pedal will have to take your ultrex to a authorized dealer and have the foot pedal board replaced and you are good to go.

knock on wood I haven't had that or any issue with mine yet. Good to hear they have the fix ready to go if I do though.

just installed mine 3 weeks ago, 2 days ago the foot control started to get stiff. the MFG date code is 174 (june 23). when installed you could move the foot control with a finger but not now.

Never had a problem with my pedal. If I ever do they are prepared to fix it at no cost to me.

1% failure rate is pretty good...that 1% sure does make a lot of noise.

If you were the one 1% you would make noise also. I would.

Same handful of people posting they're glad they waited. 1% is pretty good for an electronic device.

I mentioned this in the Ulterra thread, but is there any way to update the software on these? Or the second some kid comes out with a hack are we all going to be heading over a dam spillway?
