I would hate to think I was really sitting around thinking about that happening to me.

If you were the one 1% you would make noise also. I would.

I do doubt it. We get a thread a week with the same people jumping on it.

Wait till next week and there will be another...same handful of people still angry.

Same handful of people posting they're glad they waited. 1% is pretty good for an electronic device.

First time posting for me that I'm glad I waited.

Being from a tech background I've seen similar things happen with automobiles. To not be concerned that someone watching Bassmasters would love to make all the boats do a rendition of a water ballet would just be begging for it to happen.

Perhaps making a little tin foil hat for your Ultrex will protect it as well

The Ultrex is only linked to remotes/phones by Blue tooth. You would have to be in Blu tooth range to control it. It is not a long range wifi antenna or in any way connected to a networked computer. The thought someone could control from another boat even is only possible if you pressed the button on your Ultrex to allow it to pair to another device.

Also, yes the Ultrex can come out with updates and you will have to download it through a blue tooth connected device - in blue tooth range, or through a linked HB head unit.

you could indeed, but you would have had to have been the last phone to pair to it. You could pair to at the ramp if he wasn't looking.

Bluetooth antennas are limited by power and antenna length. I suppose if you were 100 yards offshore (the length of a football field) then you probably are out of reach. Anything within 100 yards is easily accessible by bluetooth with a simple laptop and a dongle. Food for thought.

I don't think Minn Kota will do anything to fix it though, at least not until the FLW tournament boats start doing cartwheels on live tv.
