Wayne, just for clarification sake: even with MEGA units the 10 and 12 have better resolution than the 9, yes?

Are you guys saying that the resolution is better on the current Helix 10 vs the Helix 9? I understand the screen surface is larger, but screen size and resolution are two different things....at least in my understanding. In TV terms 1080P or 4K are terms regarding resolution (# of pixels), but screen size has nothing to do with resolution.

Yes. About 3,000 more pixels per square inch with the MEGA 10 and 4,000 more pixels per square inch with the MEGA 12.
It's like comparing HD TV's with one have 720 pitch and the other with 1080 pitch, but not quite as extreme.

Yes it does have to do with screen size too. It's the number of pixels within the space.
A Helix 5, Helix 7, and Helix 9 have the exact same screen pixel count.
800 X 480. That means as the display size increases the pixels get farther apart (pixel density or pixels per square inch)= less HD.

Okay, I am a little slow on the uptake, but I get it now. The Helix 9 has 384k pixels vs Helix 10 at 623k pixels - so roughly 60% more pixels for a screen size that is only about 10% larger. More pixel density = more detail. Back to Cabela's......

Okay guys, a BIG THANK YOU to everyone for their input. With all of your valuable input I went from a Helix 9 SI, to a Helix 9 SI Mega and finally ended up with a Helix 10 SI Mega for the better screen resolution. I am certain the customer service counter people at Cabela's think I am crazy, but I am also certain the Mr. Cabela is happy to have my extra $700! I am certain I would have regretted my original decision and thank you all for being willing to share your knowledge.

I don't know about Cabelas but when I bought my units from BP in pearl MS they didn't know what they were selling and I had NO CLUE what I was buying. Wish I had known about the resources and knowledge on the forum. I would have definitely made a different decision. So good job and post some pics once your out there.
