Are there no jet-fleas, yakkers, and wake boats on these lakes? All my lakes have them, even among the trees (idiots). I can't see how you'd keep them off unless you just closed the lake off for the tournament.

They fish during the week when there's hardly anybody else out there and they did close one lake for them. Kurth I believe. BUT, they will still catch them, just not as good as they do

Not MLF but they've been on Conroe for a Classic and three TTBCs. Conroe has all the obstacles to catching you mentioned and then some. They still catch the carp out of them every time.

No doubt about it.. to steal a line from the PGA Tour, "These guys are good".

Personally I'd rather them have a wack fest on an unpressured fishery. The last thing I want to torture myself with is them struggling to get bites in the heat of the summer on some lake covered in fisherman and jet skis.

I think most of us had respect for how good they are, but the MLF format just makes it a more apples/apple comparison of them vs us (when they fish our local lakes). On the flip side, its somewhat encouraging to see that even the big dogs struggle and end up running a trash pattern to make things happen. They can just dial it in so much faster. Its a great format and they've done a great job making it exciting to watch.

The pros amazed me when they came to Fork a few years ago and we were there for their practice week. I would see them fishing many of the same spots that I have fished for years. They did more in a week than what I had done in 5 yrs. And came the tourney they did some things that were almost unbelievable. A pro is a pro a Joe is a Joe. I would like to see MLF come to Fork.

Don't want to hijack this topic so will put out more details once I have it all figured out. The short answers to the 3 questions are it's just a single tourney I think could be fun and interesting, I have the lake in mind and it would be announced ahead of time and it will be a team event so no judges will be used and poly's will be given to the winners.

I may post a topic once I have ironed out some details in the next few weeks to gauge interest. The field would be limited to 50 teams

A buddy of mine has put out a TON of deep brushpiles on Conroe for years. When the TTBC first came to Conroe he wanted to go out the first day of practice to see how many of his piles they would find. They had ALL of them dialed in after the first day, plus a bunch of other stuff he fishes like rock piles, PVC etc.

I think those guys could go on most lakes in Tx and figure them out.......except Lake Alan Henry. They would all end up throwing senkos on windy points looking for 7" spotted bass.

MLF definitely showcases how much skill they all have.

If you watch MLF over time; you'll also see patterns of which anglers consistently do well under different conditions (wind/no wind, lake structure, water clarity, thickness of cover/type of cover, and whether it was a shallow/mid depth/or deep bite that day.

It definitely shows their strengths and weaknesses.

I agree, and have been present multiple times when they get help either by phone call or talking in person. I feel as though myself, and many others on this board, if we fished daily as basically they do, and got the help and info they get, we would be damn good also. Some of us already ate good on our home lakes.

We'd then get to the point we could use our overall fishing knowledge to just show up on a lake we haven't fished and catch fish.

Yes they are good, but there are PLENTY of them that don't catch sh$$ either and don't make it to the next round.

You have been present multiple times when they get help for MLF lakes?

Nope lol, misread and was talking in terms of normal tournaments.
