I have used the Owner Oversize Worm Hooks 7/0 on ten and twelve inch worms. The longer shank seems to help. Have never tried the 11/0 but could be an option for 16 inch. Owner Oversized Hook

Yesterday, we went out with Albert Collins for some video on our new big worm. Been in the works for the past year with the help of Albert, Clent Davis, and Zach Hughes. All three guys have been using 5/0 hook with no problem, this is on a BIG Worm. We had 20 hooksets and 19 in the boat. https://vimeo.com/227275127
