What makes someone think people care about their order from an online retailer?
Why would I waste a half hour of my life watching you open a box and pull out tackle one piece at a time?
It's like watching other people open their Christmas or Kwanza gifts! Who cares???!!!
Rant over.

There's lots of videos posted that make little sense to me. Tackle unboxing (or unboxing pretty much anything you bought online). I mean, I can see the sense in recording you opening a box so you have proof of the merchandise's condition if you think there might be some chance of a problem. But why post it on youtube? Or fishing videos that consist of 10-20 minutes of a guy in his garage (or workshop, study room, etc) talking to the camera before finally giving 5-10 minutes of actual fishing footage. Why spend all that time telling the viewer what they're going to see, rather than just showing it? Yeah, most likely.

Why do some fishermen watch other fishermen, on occasion, open fishing gear?
1. to get ideas you many not have 2. curiosity at seeing other fishermen's choices 3. many fishermen like to watch anything "fishing" related.
Addendum: It's not hard to figure out.

Unfortunately we live in a society where people are desperate for attention and fame and youtube is a way for untalented people to feel famous

I just don't watch 'em. I don't begrudge those that make them or like watching them though.

First time I heard about unboxing videos was back when iPhones and iPads came out. Fanboys would go nuts over these things and blogs and you tubers would do unboxing videos to show off the latest and greatest technology. I thought it was stupid back then and I never watched one, but I can see that over some guy opening a box of soft plastics and hooks.
