Was also following on Facebook. So glad the pup was found. Hope she doesn't lose her leg. Too bad a family member or friend didn't get out there earlier to look for the pup. Thank goodness there are groups like this to help people out.

Just heard the KRLD interview on the radio Not sure when it was recorded but the Mutts and Mayhem representative indicated the the pup was in surgery to have the shattered leg amputated. After consultation with several animal orthopedic experts, it was determined to be the best course of treatment. I'm sure this dog will go on to lead a healthy happy life which would not have been possible but for the tremendous efforts of the Mutts and Mayhem organization.

People have actually been out looking for her every day since Tuesday. Unfortunately, most people don't have a clue how to do a well organized search. The terrain where Daisy was found was not the greatest and had the potential to be very dangerous for let's say a solo searcher. It was hilly, rocky, train tracks, bad over growth of vegetation, bugs, snakes, etc. Many people with my wife's organization are fellow First Responders and they have done well organized searches and have the proper training through their respective places of employment. You can see in the photo when they first found Daisy just how well she blended in with the vegetation. She very easily could have been walked by and not seen. Very thankful to all who searched and we are very happy that she was found alive and not dead. The owners have been seeking several Veterinarian consultations to get the best possible help for Daisy. Unfortunately, due to the severity of the break it's not looking good. My wife's organization www.muttsandmayhem.org is sponsoring Daisy and all medical bills will be paid for by Mutts and Mayhem. All donations to Mutts and Mayhem no matter how small help her organization continue to have a positive impact on the rescue of animals. To those that have donated a sincere Thank You.

MAK747 that was my wife doing that interview.
It was supposed to be done LIVE, but ultimately due to the producer changing the program around they recorded the interview and played it where they found a slot for it to fit. It was recorded today around 12:30pm.
I did not know Daisy was in surgery that is how fluid this situation has been.

HOGON,
Your wife was very professional and informative during the interview. Mutts and Mayhem looks to be a very worthy organization. I always like to hear stories of this type instead of some of the garbage that seems too pass as news these days. Donation to M&M completed.

This is a German Shepard Mutts and Mayhem rescued that was 30 minutes from being euthanized. We rehabilitated the dog and it was eventually adopted by a a Firefighter and his wife. This is just one example of a rescued animal that Mutts and Mayhem was able to have a positive impact on their life and give them a second chance. The picture is worth a 1000 words. All donations no matter how small make things like the above a saving grace for some animals. All this dog needed was for someone to give it a good home and a good life. It's doing great now and the Firefighter and his wife added a second German Shepard to their family.

For anyone interested Daisy did have to have her leg amputated earlier this week due to the severity of her leg injury. Tonight Daisy was reunited with her owners at the Vet's office. WFAA Channel 8 was there and did an interview. It will run on the 10pm news and I'm guessing in the morning as well. My wife was there and was streaming the reunion on Facebook Live for Mutts and Mayhem. For anyone wanting to watch some or all of the video that was streamed on Facebook Live here is the link: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1125084870968531&id=332761056867587&refsrc=https%3A%2F%2Fm.facebook.com%2Fmuttsandmayhem%2Fvideos%2F1125084870968531%2F&_rdr If this doesn't bring a tear to your eyes and a smile to your face I don't know what will. Way to go Daisy and Mutts and Mayhem!!!
