What are the signs/symptoms of skin cancer? Just curious, thanks
Well sir, I can only speak for myself.....they seem to mostly appear as a small pimple like sore, perhaps even a 'bite' like a mosquito. Like a dummy I let it go, after some months it itched a little, still small and some reddening.
Then, I 'picked or scratched at it'.....and the 'scab' came off.
Well, it came back. I did that again after a period of time and again, it returned only this time it bled a little when scratched off.
But it was still SMALL. ??? Go figure.......didn't seem to be growing but, kept coming back.
I gave it little notice.....until after some 6 to 9 months..it was harder to stop the bleeding.
So, finally went to the doctor, physical exam, she took sample and biopsy
The dang thing grew and was growing like a spider !! I looked like it was covering almost my entire ear!!! That got my attention.
Bottom line, first surgery after cut send downstairs to lab for determination while we are still in surgery mind you....waiting. 3 times she cut, sent down ....until finally it came back supposedly 'clear'.
6 months later, follow up visit....the 'pimple' came back....itching, reddening.....biopsy.... it had returned !!!!
Two more times of surgery and losing almost half my dang ear....it is STILL there !!!
She wants to cut even more but, at that point I told her no.
I'm 70 now, and hopefully will outlive it before the thing spreads even more.
Bottom line: if you have a sore, no matter how small......better get it checked out. I mean what can it hurt? Right..??
I don't wish this stuff on anyone......ya'll take care.
Poor description but, best I can offer. An oncologist can give you far more and better information.
Take care ya'll....some sun screen, a broad brim hat or UV wear......I know, looks 'dorky' but....may save you years of the same CARP !!!
