Anything would hold fish but those would eat jigs like candy.

Brush and bamboo don't care what is holding them down. Crappie don't either.

Would that work better that 5 gallon buckets ? who knows. They would be hard to
deploy if they were stuffed with brush.

always looking for why something want work. patty you said the bigger the better.cant eat jigs any more than that big tree you put in the lake. if it was easy our wife could do it.just sink them close,it will work great. one of my best piles is 6 old washing machines. been there 15 years.crappies, bass,catfish.bet they would work even without brush. drill 1/4in holes in tubing too let air out.try it you might like it.

He said he would remove the tubes and either stuff them with brush or Bamboo.I think it would work if it was stuffed to the hilt with enough brush that would keep a jig from snagging the metal.Once it`s sunk with brush or bamboo I would scan it to see how the fish are oriented to it and then fish accordingly.If I get hung up in the brush.. no big deal. The brush will give your jig back sometimes but that metal cage held down with weight would not be so forgiving.But what do I know?

Four of those tied together with some big limbs tied in would be great. Two tied together with 6-8 ft limbs angled out or horizontal would hold crappie for sure. I'd put the limbs close to the top of the crate so fish can get under the limbs.

Everywhere 2 of those tubes meet is a corner just waiting to gobble up a jig.
Another reason I'm not a big fan of pallets either...
That being said, I'm always willing to sink ANYTHING and give it a shot!

Weedless jigheads. I've been using them for the past several years and I see no difference in hook-up ratio.
