I told my husband she appears to be so perfect she does not look real. Perhaps Tasteless Gentlemen has partied too hard which is affecting his memory.

I do wonder if Carrie Fisher had a bi-polar disorder or mental illness. It is not unusual for those with a bi-polar disorder to try to self-medicate with drugs whether it is street drugs or Rx drugs but taking too many (abusing) as one dose.

Gusick, the side effect of many opioid drugs is it suppresses your ability to breathe. If the drug you are taking causes the sleep apnea, rather than using a c-pap mask it would be easier to stop taking the drug causing the apnea. You still may need to use the mask, but there is a good chance the apnea will go away once you stop the drugs causing it.

I didn't know that. I know several people that use a c-pap and never suspected they were chasing the dragon. I will urge them all to check into rehab at once. I wont leave any valuable unattended around them either.

Gusick, did you fry your brain with that little gal in the van down by the river? There was a huge IF that qualified the sentence. Most use a cpap mask for sleep apnea that has an unknown cause. There may be a few who are prescribed opioid medication by their doctor who get apnea as a result of taking that medication. I suspect the majority of folks who need cpap machines and masks have never had to take opioid medications for constant, chronic pain.

However, I have seen many who have mental illness use street drugs to self-medicate because the psychotropic meds make them feel like they are behind a wall or not themselves. They will refuse to take psychotropic meds but will take street drugs to self-medicate. It is a viscious cycle that is deadly from time to time.

I take an opioid twice daily but the Rx is written where I could take it 4x/day or every 6 hours. I just take it twice a day and I really cannot tell it has reduced the pain all that much unless I run out and have none to take. That is when I realized just how much pain it had been relieving.

I guess you could say I felt sympathy for Carrie Fisher as she was born during the age when Hollywood stars delegated their mom duties to others. Her mother was a huge star who probably did not have a lot of time for her child. It can leave a huge hole in a child's heart especially when they are old enough to know other girls have very close, loving and caring relationships with their mothers. I could relate as I did not have that close relationship with my mother due to her mental illness. My paternal grandmother was more my mother figure than my mother was. My father moved her from Slaton to Abilene to care for us when mother was in the state hospital for virtually two full years. It was the best thing that ever happened to my sister and I. She was our rock and stabilizing force in our lives. I still loved my mother because she did the best she could. She totally loved being treated like a princess or queen. she loved being the queen of the house when she lived with us as all of her needs were attended to. She was fed, bathed, and did not have to do anything at all and she loved being treated like the queen.

A cocktail of the right drugs to be wrong will let you off yourself accidentally or accidentally on purpose in some cases. It is rather odd that whatever mix she had taken caused the problem during her flight. Unless she had been prescribed opioids to enable her to fly due to fear of flying, however it is odd for her to have a mix of cocaine and methadone in addition to opioids. Using cocaine more or less defeated the purpose of taking methadone from what I understand about the drug.
