Took my son and his friend out last Friday for some sandbass action. We found em up shallow early then moved out to some deeper humps later in the day. Ended up with a mix of blues sandbass and one hybrid before the storms pushed us off the lake. My son's buddy finished up the trip with this big hybrid.

Nice one.Looks.like it didn't survive, that's a shame. My wife and I both caught 10.4, 10.11 lbers on slabs and released to fight another day. The lake used to be full of hybrids, not so much anymore with all the ones kept. The lake needs another stocking.
Tight Lines! God Bless

There are tons of hybrids still.... I catch hundreds every year and they are still in the creeks in droves in the spring...
I only fish on days that end in Y!

That huge algea bloom took out most of the shad two years ago. If someone had to survive on what they caught, they'd starve. Went by Bobby's place a few weeks ago to see what kind of weigh ins they've had lately. Nada.

LOL! They stock it almost every year! 1.3 million hybrid fry were stocked in 2016. Since the year 2000, only 2001, 2011, and 2012 did not get hybrid fingerlings or fry. And Benp does catch hundreds every year, I'm lucky to go out and catch hybrids with him from time to time. Lewisville creek season was HOT this spring. Got myself a case of tennis elbow from it.

One of my favorite lakes and if it wasn't pure hell to get there from grand prairie I would stay on it. Plenty of fish and plenty of bait fish.
