i use a robby rose special - big 16oz lead weight with a snap swivel attached, Get directly over the snag, clip it to the line and let her drop. so far it has worked every time.

A triangular shaped, 1-2oz lead weight with a swivel-snap attached has worked wonders for me.

Been using these for many, many years.
Get right over the lure, attach it to your line, drop it straight down.




Those weigh 1.5 oz.
I have no idea how many lures these have rescued.
If that doesn't knock it loose, it's not coming loose.
