My suggestion is, if you plan on doing these anytime soon, get to Wal Mart and buy the noodles in the color you want now, you wont be able to find them during winter. In the next few weeks is when they will hit clearance and be gone. If Cedar Creek would fill up, I get all kinds of pool noodles floating up into our cove but with the lake down there's not much cove right now.

Found some at Lowes though. My wife said the DollarStore has them.

Your post made me & my son want to try out some juggin. Question: Do you leave the jugs free floatin or do you anchor them with a heavy weight? Just thinking that the jug may not give enough resistance to set the hook on its own.

use a weight, we use a small cup with concrete in it, we use a piece wire in it then fill, we have used non weighted ones but the wind will blow them a long ways and makes finding them a pain! duck weights work well too. good luck and have fun

I use lead for weight, I some that came from lead lined sheetrock used in x ray rooms. I like it because its thin and it will just wrap around the jug when storing. Also bumping this for a TFF'er that just pm'd me.

I like the clips you use. Several people have told me they aren't strong enough, I like them and have had them hold everything iv hooked on jug/trot lines, cats up to 80+ lbs and gator gar to 5 or 6 foot, never weight any of them.

I tried to use noodles for the first time last week. I used free floating ones in 30' with hooks at 5', 10', and 15'. Most no takers but 2 disappeared never to be seen again. I drove around looking for over an hour. I will always used weighted ones in more shallow water. Lesson learned.
