Mo,
You can Mount a Check it on the side of the boat.
You can put one on both sides and no one will trip over anything.
The one mounted in the back of my boat when I want to measure the fish it's like I'm holding the fish up to the wall.
Just trying to help. I don't see the Check It as a tripping hazard unless you mount it on your floor.
Ours is on the wall of the boat on the side. I want where I want it  . Sides of the boat are not flat , never ever fish out of the back of the boat. Perfect spot is back edge of the front deck. I may take a hacksaw and grinder to my golden rule and attach a hinge. Mo

I use a piece of tape measured to 11" on my crappie sticks
From the foam or cork of the top section of the handle
I can measure even before unhooking
Yes 11 inches is my minimum Great idea,..keeps you fishing faster, love this.  `
