Whats up all... well, I am new to the area and Lake Lewisville is right nearby. Never been out on it before and when I finally get unpacked I plan on spending many days on it. But, before I head out, any tips/tricks/warnings about the lake? I see stumps on my maps... lots of them. Anything else I should look for?
Ill be launching mostly out of Hickory Creek..
Anything at all would be helpful.
Good to be home, and good to be fishing!
Have a blessed day!

Avoid the lake after around 11 am on Saturday and Sundays due to all the idiot pleasure boats and jet skis. Other than that it a pretty good little lake to fish.

the only thing i can add is under the bridge and little in that cove not much tho. just give a small cheat like 100 yards. there will be a pretty good amount of top water fish that are all over the place in there. a lot of fish near the yacht club. most of theses are sand bass but there are definitely some large mouths in there. also the damn that is just below that has fish i dont really fish it because it is always crowded. but i can catch the mess out of some hybrids just below the damn in all the humps but im good at it because i do alot of stripper fishing on texoma and so i picked that up easy. by the way im giving directions if you were looking at google maps

west of hickory creek can get shallow and has hazards. there is a winding creek through there, and at one time it was full of trees, but someone cut them down. water gets dirty on that side, not that the lake is clear, but the fishing pressure is a lot less as you go west. Hardly see any boats up there because of the hairy run past pilot knoll.

I lived in Hickory Creek for a few years. On Indian Trail. However, I owned a Jet Boat at the time, so I didn't really fish much. Back then, it was t rigged plastics in and around HC area, but the lake has changed a bunch.

Fish shallow, fish rocks, fish main lake points, throw a shakey head and a square bill. There are lots of other ways to catch fish obviously, but thats what is consistent for me right now. When you're learning the lake you need to throw "numbers" baits so you can get bites that will show you where the fish like to hang out. Most of them dont seem to go too deep, so the spots you find will produce year round.

I could probably take you out sometime, I live in Corinth. I fish a lot during the week and leave the weekends to the pleasure boaters unless I fish at night... There aren't nearly as many stumps in the lake now as use to be.. Give me a shout sometime and we can chat about the fishing or maybe head out and fish.
