I paid $36000 out the door for my 2015 Tundra 4x4 and it was pretty loaded. Got a 100000 mile B to B warranty included and alloy wheels. Sticker was $40000. I looked at the F-150 but they were a lot more OTD.

I know nothing about Tundras. I've owned 4 Fords (2 F150s, an Explorer, and a Sport Trac). All have been decent vehicles all around. Thinking about looking at a newer truck in the next year and considering options. I'm not a Chevy or Dodge guy, so those are out.

I have an F150. It's fine. My previous truck was a Tundra. The back window rolled all the way down. I regret every day that I bought a truck where the back window doesn't roll all the way down. Big mistake.

Grew up in a Ford house. Older Fords were made very well and of course that can be said for just about anything. I have an '06 Tundra TRD 4X4 Crew Cab with 1" lift/leveling and air intake upgrade. I get 20 mpg on the road and it just hit 276K miles. Get around 14 mpg when towing. I have 2 '97 Tacomas with V6 engines both 4X4 and extended cabs. Each has 435K miles and counting.

Regardless of what you purchase - Ford, Chevy, Ram, Nissan, Toyota etc if you maintain them you will get good life out of it. That is common sense for most people but I have some friends who get in and start their truck up and simply put gas in as needed. Then trade every 2 years. Maintenance is an inconvenience to them.

I change the oil every 3,500 miles and the main drive belt and water pumps every 85K miles and have not had trouble. Ride, towing etc is comparable to Ford and other 1/2 tons.

One of my son's has an F-150 and the other has a Tundra. The Ford has been back to the dealer for throttle body issues and plugs/resistors. The Tundra has never been back to the dealer for any issues whatsoever. The Eco-Boost gets way better gas mileage. Pick your poison. Having ridden in both, IMO the Tundra is a better truck. Just built better.

Tundra.

The Ford motto is Service after the sale. Which means they make their profits fixing things that are engineered to break.

Talk to any mechanic. They will tell you that the engineers at Ford make their truck extremely hard to work on. $500 in labor cost just to gain access to a $12 part engineered to break

My son bought a Tundra and was trying to get a RV last month . He checked and the little puny 3rd member in the Tundra would not tow it ! Look at them and look at the Ford . Say what you want to about a Ford , but abuse them everyday the way we do in our business and you will find out why all the cement and rock quarry's only use Fords.

tundra: the ranger boat of the interstate.

lovin my f150, 50,500 on it now and not a single problem so far.

extended warranty to 125,000 is a plus.

buy another f150 and get the 5.0 is my recommendation.

were that the case I would think you would be seeing a lot of recalls for broken parts that too many people complained about. last ford I had had over 225,000 on it when I sold it to a nephew and the only thing wrong was I put in a new engine just prior. burned a qt of oil about every month from worn rings.

wrong, ford builds the pickups in kansas city, not mehico. regardless of other vehicles made there the f150 is all american made, I would not own one if it had been built in mehico.
