Saw a small bodied water snake swimming by the rip rap on the dam last sunday and my buddy Stell says,"That snake ain't [censored] compared to the one sitting up on that log."This pic was taken at a good 15 feet away.That was about as close as I wanted to get.This snake was super big bodied.Thanks for looking.

The water snake would have been more aggressive but I agree... No reason to [censored] that one off

Having been face to face with a few ... I would agree that is a Cottonmouth. The head is a little hard to see but the shape of the head looks like one. But I could be wrong.

Having been face to face with a few ... I would agree that is a Cottonmouth. The head is a little hard to see but the shape of the head looks like one. But I could be wrong. This is 100% a Diamondback Watersnake. No if and or buts. The yellow on the lower jaw is another. I currently have two of these in an aquarium at home I caught last weekend. Going to release them tonight probably.
