I made the switch last year too after my doubts. They really do help. The Huk products are good. However, it seems like everything is cut just a little small. I have one of the long-sleeve shirts, hoodies and sun gaiter. All fit a little tight. I have several of the Columbia shirts. The feel a lighter weight looser fitting. They seem to run big and a little looser around the collar. You can find them from $15-$35 depending where and sales.

If you ever watch a group of Hispanic workers outside in the summer, they are almost always covered from head to toe. My grandfather said that's how they used to dress working on the railroad in the heat. Keeping the sun off your skin is huge.

Im going to sound like a commercial, but I am not affiliated with HUK in any way. I am not sponsored by them, I don't get any kind of discount or anything. I don't wear anything else. I have a dozen of their shirts, some pullovers, and their rain suit, and I have been very impressed with them. They make an awesome fabric. I wear pretty much all long sleeve, and in the summer I never get hot. They keep the sun off you 100%. I would definitely recommend them.

I held off on wearing dri-fit shirts for way too long. Try one out, and you will wish you had done it a long time ago. +100. Take a picture of yourself the second you realize you've been missing out for so long. haha Game changer for yard work too! My limited general experience is that Columbia is ahead of the game by one step when it comes to fabric weight/comfort but you pay for it. Magellan is pretty good nowadays for half-2/3 the price of the Columbia. Don't have any experience with other brands beyond that though.

haha! Mine either but I really like them, the other downside to them is the material isn't very durable, I can get more uses out of a wet paper towel than I can these shirts!

I've got a few Columbia long sleeve shirts and a few under armour fish ones. I made the mistake of buying a black Columbia one. It pretty much doesn't leave the closet. Stay with light colors as they don't absorb nearly as much heat.

Yes they work but just take a little time to get used to along with the gloves, I don't buy the HUK brand. I'm sure they are quality shirts buy way too much money for me. I always take up the offer on the Lews mail in rebates when buying their reels. I have a ton of lews tshirts and a ton of micro fiber long sleeve shirts for around 7 dollars a piece for the shipping.

Dunk the long-sleeve shirts in water during the hot summer months. Certainly a fan of the Huk / Magellen offering.

$45-$65 is way cheaper than skin cancer treatments!! It's not for looks, it's for protection!

Fish dont care about moobs!
HUK has a military pricing program for those of you that served, FYI.
I usually stick to Magellan. Cheap, readily available at Academy, and they come in pleasant colors.

I go to the Columbia outlet in Allen and find good deals.

I wear the Hanes as in Collincty's post and they're very light and cool in the sun. I also like the Dickies dri fit tees. Both run about $15 to $20 and the Dickies have pockets (or not) which I like. I like short sleeves so when not in the sun I just push the sleeves up. I wear xl's and sizes on both seem to be right.
