5/21/17: The last Sunday tournament was held yesterday until October and the fish were much more cooperative with the weather change we had. Lake is still dropping over 4.5 low, water clarity very clear. Topwater, cranks and plastic were the talk at weigh in, which all of those worked for me as well just not as well as for my brother and his partner who took the win. Memorial Day weekend will be busy at the marina, I will be helping at the front gate at Joes Place leaving the lake to the recreational folks. Hope you all have a safe and Happy Holiday. Here are the results from yesterday which are posted above in "Tournament section" as well. Many thanks to Marcus for giving us the opportunity to fish something local on our little "Jewel" Hope he holds them again come October. Sunday 5/21/17 23 boats 13-9 10-1 (BB 5-2) 8-13 Congrats to all, and especially my brother and his partner for the win! congrats to all that participated. It sure looked like rain was close but just stayed cloudy and cool. Nice day for it. We had a late night and slept in. Wife persuaded us to clean house before allowing us out. Got on water about 11,found the bass nursery moved closer to the dam. Loads of short fish 25-30' down in 30-50' of water. After checking and seeing that they weren't whites,we moved on. Didnt find crappie on brush, son caught one keeper. Either lock jaw or moved on??? Ski boats and jet skis are getting thicker. Have to start planning trips around that. Medina has a great night bite. Something to think about.

I believe Marcus is trying to get some Friday night tourneys going, you will need to check with him. Debra

I haven't seen an update in a while so I post about my 2 trips last week. My dad was in from TN last week and wanted to try his luck bass fishing in TX.
On 3 July we fished from 9-12 and ended up with 25 bass between the two of us. The largest was 2.5 lbs and the smallest was just over 1 lb. Overall we had a really good day of fishing even though it was windy.
On 5 July we fished from 6-11 and ended up with 21 bass. The largest was right at 2 lbs.
Both days we used plastic worms in pumpkin seed, black, junebug, tequila sunrise and yellow/white color. Over the two days we caught fish in anything from 6" - 30' of water on a Texas Rig. I did notice a majority of the fish were caught around 10' - 15' on the reel back. Especially if there was any of those little twigs sticking up from the water. I'd say the water was down around 5' from when I was out there the 1st of June.

I agree. I had not been out there since early June and it is at least five feet down, maybe more. I hope history does not repeat itself. Very sad.

The history of it being full is less than the history of it being low.

Fished a Friday night tourney out on Medina last week and 19 pounds for 5 fish won it.. If you can weed through the 12 inchers you'll catch a nice one or two. I caught around 35-40 fish that night working top water right before the sun went down in the back on Saw mill and sitting out in front of a main lake dock that had a light on it but only had 2 keepers.

Went out today 7am-1pm.
Fished over by the dam and in Joe's Marina to start, with fish blowing up all around us for an hour, we caught zero.
Moved out to 30' water off a point and my partner got our biggest fish of 3.5lbs on a shakey head and had several more bites.
Took about 10 small fish off Waltons Island in 25'
We graphed for about 30 minutes just exploring and ended up finding some nice main lake stuff. We boated about 30 largemouth with 2 more keepers in 35' with some good rock and wood.
All together we ended up with about 45 fish best we could count with 3 of them being keepers.
C-Rig and Shakey heads both produced well.

Got out on the lake Saturday (29 July) morning. In 4 hours I ended up with 7 bass and 1 bluegill. The bite seemed really slow but once you got a bite you knew you had something, everything seemed aggressive on the bite. I fished with plastic worms and a 5'-8' crankbait. The fish of the day was a 3.5lb bass that hit a crankbait in about 6" of water and the bluegill. That bluegill was bigger than my hand and hit a plastic work in around 15'.
