I got to wondering yesterday if this was a generational thing. We bought a new mattress for my son this weekend and tied it down with some nylon string. When we got home I went inside to get some scissors to cut it, by the time I got back outside the elderly neighbor across the street had already cut half of it off with his pocketknife. My dad also carries a pocketknife every day and is also in his mid 70's. The wife asked me why I don't carry one. I told her before yesterday I can't remember the last time I needed one. None of my friends that are my age, mid 40's carry one either. So is this a generational thing or do some of you younger guys still carry a pocket knife?

Me. A small penknife, a Buck that is made in China of all things.

I do once in awhile. I travel a lot so I tend not to since I don't want to forget and lose it at security.

I carry my dad's old knife every day.

If I have on clothes I have a pocket knife, I couldn't imagine being without it. The two exceptions are on commercial flights and at Globe Life Park. I usually carry a Case Russlock. My kid is 13 and he carries one unless he is at school. I remember carrying a knife thru school from about the fifth grade up. Our Ag teacher would be upset with us if we didn't have one.

Tiny little one on my keychain at all times. Always one in the console and a bigger one in my foraging pack.

Pretty much everbody I know has one, young and old, although more and more people seem to be replacing them with multitools. I know both young and old people with those too though.

have a kershaw volt for a workin knife and an old timer small lockback too.

I have a small case folder that I carry around.

i'm 46 and use my knife more times per day than i can count.if i forget it at home. it makes me feel naked.but i have a few spares in my truck to get me thru the day

I carry a 3-blade pocketknife (schrade) that I have carried for many years. Never without one.

I have a Buck 345 thats made in the USA. Keeps an edge really well. Its cheap too.
