No jetties that you can walk to.

I had a bad experience with Michael Pittman. I would not recommend him. X 1000 on THIS!!! I'm not sure if Michael Pittman still works for Eddie but he is horrible. In years past he ran Eddie's other boat. Worst guide experience of my life. Just be sure if you book a trip with Eddie that it is on the boat he is going to captain. If not pass and find someone else. We use Captain Hunter with Paradise Outfitters now. He is a great guy, works hard, and knows how to fish.

Thanks for the replies. I passed on micheal Pittman. Paradise outfitters is full October thru December I believe and Eddie is booked the weekend I was trying to go. I might give voodoo a try. I am taking my son, brother in law and his two sons.my brother in law has been snapper fishing and I have been tuna fishing a couple of times but our sons have never been deep sea fishing. I want this to be a great trip so they like it enough to go once or twice a year.

I would look at the unreal experience you can have at the south pass.. A lodge at the mouth of the river 1/4 mile from the jetties and in October you'll only be a mile to two miles from the shrimp boats they = yellow fin tuna, and of course everything else. If you have a boat their marina for slipping is fantastic, restaurant chef's A+, fuel, rooms, and guides.. I've been there, it's a dream come true.. If you can afford it.... It is the ultimate, Venice fishing spot imo.. You can fish off their giants docks for reds and other species too. Can you tell that place gets me excited just remembering being there. www.porteads.com
