I think Hubbard would be the next most likely candidate.

Given the lakes that we have in the spring that puts out big sacks
I see one in DFW's future. Hubbard, Lewisville, Ray Roberts, etc.

I have always wonder why Wright Patman never comes in to the discussion. They have plenty of water and close to a big enough town to host. I am guessing maybe money?

The classic was awesome in Minute Maid and expo at GRB. However there are to other lakes that fish better (more consistent) than Conroe. They held the high and college tournaments at 1 of them. Yep. Good old lake Houston. It's big enough and doesn't turn into the gulf with just a puff of a breeze. Then we have Livingston. I remember back in the 80's and 90's bass use to hold tournaments there (think twice). But I guess it might be about the money cause Conroe definitely has it over there. Lake Houston is less than 12,000 acres. Conroe is 21,000 and was one of the smaller Classic venues. Lake Houston? You're dreaming.

The lake is at 224 right now and very hard to navigate from one end to the other. Also, it is a true flood control Corp lake, which means no water level is guaranteed.

I wonder with the Dallas Cowboys new star stadium in Frisco if that would be an option. It holds 12,000 indoors. And lord knows nobody from DFW would show up so that should be big enough for everyone that travels in.

I could easily see one on Lewisville or Ray Roberts with the expo and weigh in at the Star in Frisco. The new Omni hotel and many of the major facilities will be done this time next year and that stadium would be about perfect for the weigh in..it seats right at 12,000 people and I would guess with seating on the floor that could go up another 3,000 or so. These lakes are even more likely to be a host if the Classic is in late March again.

TTBC already proved RayBob and Frisco won't work. Or, should I say the local community proved it with the dismal turnout?

Right now Frisco still doesn't have the contiguous Expo space and I think 12k seating is borderline not enough. Love to see Frisco host a Classic. Don't get it confused, the TTBC and Classic are two different animals and the Classic draws from everywhere. I think the DFW debacle is too fresh right now in people's minds to discuss but give it a couple of years and it could happen. Frisco has the money and Toyota is now minutes away at Legacy West.

I read an outstanding article last week about selection of venues for Classics. Explained why there will never be one on Rayburn or Toledo Bend. Can't find it right now but I'll try. The article answered all the questions we Texans always have regarding the subject. And it's not about whoever will pay BASS. It's more about lodging, facilities, central locations and things to do in the host city.
Yesterday in Houston we had the Classic, a Rockets game and the final day of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo closed out by the Zac Brown band. The Classic, Expo and Rockets game plus the fancy hotels and dining needed for the event were all within walking distance. Is it this one? https://www.bassmaster.com/news/daily-limit-how-classic-venue-chosen

It is and, while there is no direct mention of Rayburn and Toledo, I can't think of any major cities in the 8-12 mentioned near either lake. Thanks Duck_Hunter.

Not a chance Dallas area gets one. Too many weekend warriors would showcase the "it's public water" mentality.
Dallas waters fish small and add in the weekend crowds plus lack of fan support...disaster.

Travis and Austin maybe..Even though Travis is a bit smaller than Conroe.
