Hydraulic makes a big difference in performance. I'm curious what I'm going to get running solo, but I'm not sure I will see that number with water temps already in the 60s.

What kind of steering response do you get at that speed? When I jack up for speed to hit 70+ on my FX-21, I have to pull the trim in to get anything beyond a straight run.

Mind you, I am a big guy, and that Skeeter is a heavier boat, I wouldn't expect the same speed as you!

The Phoenix will have great steering responds up till the walking starts. My 921 would run 74-75 on top end the walking started about 72. I had great steering up till about 69-70 and good steering up to 72. The last 3-4 MPH is on the little pad and not much boat in the water, I wouldn't try steering up their. I would think each of those number could go up by 3-4 with a 920 set up right with Hydraulic jack plate. You can get some really good responds to this on the BBC Phoenix board.

I have a 721 running an 8" manual plate, it has been an awesome boat and I won't own another brand. I have had it 4 years and the customer service from the plant is outstanding. Mine runs up to 72 fine, over that it gets squirrelly! Looking at maybe adding a hydraulic but not sure it is worth the money right now. May hold off until I can jump to a 920/921.

Great info you have gotten here, but I will second the comment from 921 Phoenix, the BBC Phoenix group is pretty good.

Good luck and enjoy!

I've owned Skeeters and Rangers, and ridden in all the big brands, Phoenix is the best/driest/softest riding boat on the market. They're very very fast also, and the fishability rivals a Ranger. Check out the Phoenix board on bass boat central, there is a lot of information about 920s, and if you have a manual jack plate they'll even tell you where to start your adjustments for best performance. Customer service at the plant is phenomenal! You will not be disappointed.

I would like to give a big thank you to Fain, Lance, Barbara and the whole Fun N Sun team for working their butts off and giving me a first class buying experience. If your looking for a new rig do your self a favor, save some brain damage and go see them.

Thanks again for the guys above that answered my questions.
