My wife and I were out this afternoon for about four hours. We caught eight LMBs with one keeper that was about 15". All were caught in 5-10 FOW near brush using nothing but 1/4 oz white spinnerbaits. The larger fish liked the willow blade but the the Colorado blade produced more strikes.
For us at least, the bite stopped about 4pm and even spots that normally produce yielded nothing. We quit just before sundown.

You believe in barometric pressure? Or full moon? I think I do. Has to be a case of lock jaw. Good job anyway, time on the lake with your lady is better than any time spent shopping with them. Things will turn around soon. Gonna be a great year.

All good. I spent the day fishing only spinnerbaits since I have been focusing mostly on shakey head jigs and T-rigs, and had the goal of brushing up my spinnerbait skills, no pun intended.

Go upriver past Pop's place and the river will take a 90degree right hand turn. About a mile past the right hand turn you start getting real shallow and then you come to a gravel bar which you can't get past right now. That's where the whites go to spawn, clear flowing water with a gravel bottom. Watch the large rocks in the river though, prop eaters. Thanks again. I was at that location weekend before last. I saw some small carp, and it looked like they were spawning - mostly a good ways up river. I did fish the deeper pockets below the falls in search of the elusive Medina white bass, but I didn't get any bites nor did I see any in the shallows. I guess I should keep trying it. I do remember that the whites tend to run on Medina a bit later than the other places in the area.

I walked down to the river yesterday by the falls and saw some white's "Flashing". Seems like there are more and more showing up

We got out for a few hours last night after work and ended up with 15 bass and 1 crappie. Not bad for a couple hours of fishing. We could have caught more but the wind was pretty bad at times. Everything was caught on plastic worms including the crappie.
My daughter caught the biggest one of the night at .62 pounds.

Sorry I been off line a while. Too busy catching and cleaning 14" black bass. Nah,kids had things going on so been too busy to go to the lake. Rob,I think he was referring to black bass and not upriver. But,maybe wrong. .62lb black bass seems kindof small. First crappie I caught this year was on a 4" chartreuse and flake lizard on a 1/4oz jig head. With kids in boat, don't question the strange combos. Pier fishing at Port A,boy was perch jerking with 30lb test and #9 penn med/heavy rod. Should hit the lake this weekend and give a report, anyone else been fishing? Tournament results? Tournament info?

Took me a while to get that one ya,sometimes they die in the livewell and other times they flop even with their fillets cut off. so on the garage floor is where I measured her wife wants me to build a cleaning table outside. So we'll put that on the to do list.

We did very well yesterday out on the lake. Between the two of us we ended up with well over 100 fish. They were hitting more or less anything we threw at them. We started out around 0700 and landed 6 in a matter of minutes. The 6th one was my 6.28 pound beauty. While I was reeling her in the storm kicked off right on top of us and we had to get out of the wind and rain. Which explains the crappy picture. After an hour of hanging out in a covered boat dock we were able to hit the lake again and as you can see from the below picture the weather turned out to be amazing.

Nice post I'd say you were crazy to be out there when all the local TV stations were watching the storm pass through, and tornado watches in effect. But,I didn't see a tornado at my house and couldn't watch my Sunday morning shows because of all the weather coverage. Oh it was crazy, every channel was watching a fast moving front come through and petter out but still talking about it. Pretty pathetic. I got an inch of rain. we went out there about 2pm. I made a few marabou feather crappie jigs to try out. Bite was light but did find a few takers. Pretty day! All was wonderful until I popped the TM fuse. Or should I say, melted the fuse connector housing. Oh lord, stiff wind and no trolling motor will make you panic. Swapped it with the one from the radio and big graph and continued on. Wasn't as fun after that so called it a day.

Love the reports for this rejuvenated old lake! Sold my boat a few years ago due to the drought, but just bought another and I am exicted about getting back on the water again. What stage are the bass in? Have they spawned yet? Same questions for crappie. Any info would be appreciated.
