Very slow Saturday. Saw a few stringers but definitely no limits. Most were using minnows, and I only caught a few on artificials.

I still do not think it has hit it's peak, I went up on Wednesday with another guy in my boat, we had 25 keepers in the boat by 1 p.m., every one was a male. We were fishing with minnows. I would expect to see a lot of females if it was peaking. I'm done for this year, Turkey season opens Saturday. Good luck.

Normally by this time which is during spring break the run is usually on the tail end according to my records, but we've had some unusually warm weather, and now back to back fronts.
I've always timed the run on Canyon by watching the peach trees, with the pink bloom, and it has been fairly accurate in past years, but the trees past that stage and are already producing leaves.
There has also been a few years of low water flow, and most of the whites spawned in the lake on windy points and backs of coves.
With the lake being in better shape and flow back in the river the last couple of years, next years spawn should be better as the fish that spawned in the river will continue to return year after year as long as there are decent flows.
With warmer weather there can be a few more days left in the run in my opinion.
