from what i have read seems the crappie are still deep on brush piles and the white bass are still in the rivers , if this weather would get straight would help out . but it should start getting better !

I'm heading there tomorrow morning. I'll post a report if I can get into any. Usually this early in the Spring, I like to just straight up jig fish. If I see folks killing them on minnows, then when I go again Friday, I'll bring my minner poles.

LL Barge was a madhouse today, or more like a daycare center, with lazy parents yelling at their kids and not keeping them settled or under control. Throw in kicking my new $5 pack of sickle hook, pink jig heads I bought from Academy, and I just chalked it up and left.

By the way, guy in the first picture in this thread and I chatted this morning. Super nice and cool dude.

It was good to see some of the regulars I haven't seen in almost a year. They repaved the road into the barge and raised it near the creek area and repainted the trowels to put your stuff in and re-brushed the middle crappie well. 1171 was opened up to 3 lanes, so all those were positive.

I'll wait til Spring Break and spawn rush is over. Much better and quieter. Til next time...

Yask65, I just brought in my jig poles. Was told anything with "blue" in it, so tried both Jigum hair jigs and plastics with some blue in em and either a chartreuse or pink head.

A few weak thumps, nothing more. Hell, it couldn't try most of the places I like cause every person with 5-6 kids seemed to be there and all the tanks were lined up. Crack was full of people and south side was windy and cold. Place was loud and I was annoyed. rolleyes flush_2 soap

I miss my slips on Eagle Mountain Lake (much closer) and my buddy DaleJrFan and a few others having our own brush and NO CROWDS. crying
