When I lived in Corpus lots called it Heeb pretty sure thats where HEB got started.

The HEB I know is named after Howard Edward Butt? It even says it on the side of the trucks? H.E.Butt

For me, the first time I ever heard of a store called H-E-B, Hurst, Euless and Bedford popped in my head. I just thought that's what it stood for, and at the time, there were no H-E-B stores near me. Now that I think of it, there still aren't any near me.
They are all over in Hurst, Euless and Bedford!!!!!!!!!!!!!
