H-E-B as letters. I live in SA and other than Walmart that's the only grocery store around here. I guess all the commercials always say it by the letters so that's how I say it.

My wife went to Law School at St Mary's in San Antonio. There was a girl in her class that was from Ney York. She asked if no one else found it offensive that the grocery store was called heeb? They had to explain it to her that it's H E B, separate letters.

I grew up in San Antonio - my friends and I called it Heeb, probably just as an excuse to say a stupid-sounding word
