did you look at the above link ? not possible ? Let me rephrase my answer. There are no serviceable parts from Mercury for these pumps! Buying the whole pump from Mercury and you get a year warranty on the part! I'm not going to trust an o-ring from Ace Hardware to work and protect my $6000.00 powerhead! Just my 0.02. btw --i was told that dye was not needed ----the mercury dfi oil does show up under ultraviolet light --works like a charm --glows kinda orange
so im gonna put it back together with all the cowling cleaned up --run it a while --verify that the pump is the leak via uv light -- and replace as recommended
best place to buy pump if needed ?

Thats good to know. I would order one online. When I get back I will send the link for the place I use. The name escapes me right now but its the easiest one I've found that gets you to your year model and part diagrams.

Crowley Marine. I believe they only sell OEM parts but a good discount and rapid shipping.

As a follow up- with oil system replacement on 2 strokes with oil injection a prime with premix is needed til the pump gets up to speed. My concern is how can one tell when the pump is sending the oil that is needed so the external premix can be removed?

well after cleaning it all up and running it again it would appear that the oil pump is the culprit ! i looked on several mercury parts websites but cannot find the oil pump part number --they all appear to use the same illustrations --oil injection components have oil pump in picture but no index or description to it
serial number for my unit is 1B789153 any help out there ?
