Who can tell me if Barlows in still in business? I went by there on weds, wanting to get a few things and there wasn't an employee to be found. I must have walked around in there for 15 minutes and nothing. I could have walked out with the baits I wanted and nobody would have been the wiser. Do they do more business on line then through the store?

The online store is the fastest I have ever ordered from. I order one morning and get it the third morning it all arrives. I have ordered many times and it is always fast.

They are all in back filling orders. They will come out to help if you yell in the back and let them know you are there. I usually go during my lunch hour and they are busy stocking shelves. They have done some re-organization of the layout and add a few new plastics.

Do they do more business on line then through the store? Ever since Bob Wilson retired there have been only a few guys (mostly part time) that seem to care about helping anyone that wonders into the store.

Now that makes more sense... the shelves were slim pickings

Shelves are always slim pickings. If they have something you want, place an order by fax, phone or email. Then stop by and pick it up or have it shipped. Good folks, but the storefront is not their bread and butter.

I go there regularly (at least twice a month) If it's not on the shelves, but in the catalog or the online site, they will have it next door in the warehouse.
It's a mom and pop with mom and pop store hours; so if you don't see anyone in the store, walk to that open door to the warehouse and politely ask for some help. Some of the employees are better at customer service than others; but many of them are passionate about fishing and it shows. Some are grumpy old men, but you're used to that if you read some posts on TFF.

Do they do more business on line then through the store? Sure we are open. We are sorry that no-one came out to help you. We either missed the doorbell or more than likely it did not go off. From January to April is our busy internet season so everyone was probably in back filling order. Again, sorry we missed you. Jon Barlow Barlow's Tackle

I made an online order on Monday. Got a call yesterday from someone at Barlows who simply wanted to let me know that the color of the bait I ordered in reality looks a little different than it looks online. He explained the color and gave me the option of changing or cancelling the order. Most places would have just sent the bait. I was very impressed with the attention to customer service. I have always appreciated the niche that Barlows fills, and I will continue to do business with them.

I build my own jigs and have been in Barlow's many times. They are always helpful and fill my order quickly. I really like the nice selection of skirt colors they have.
